Ahab

Perhaps her biggest tick is that she has the tendency to obsess over certain life aspects; some of these quirks are her utterly consuming sense of vengeance, retribution, and doing unto others. As is implied, she doesn't handle loss very well at all, with no exception to playful or relaxed settings -- even the smallest of losses will trigger her highly vindictive nature. This nature stems from her tendency to give extraordinary focus to the most menial of tasks, however such a flaw brings about a distinct advantage: she is extremely observant, resourceful, and perceptive with perfect "photographic" memory. Mentally, she's quite strong and can drown out anything to focus and accomplish her mission, making her a valuable pivot and reliably efficient worker and fighter. She's not above manipulating her friends to get things done without asking, although she is less inclined to deliberately put them in a life-threatening situation because she still cares deeply for her bonds because of her childhood (and present) troubles with making friends. Consequent to this insecurity, she places a much higher value on her friends' lives than her own, reflected in her preference to tank the front line in battles, although her stress capacity makes her dually suited to tasks related to stealth, theft, and precision. Occasionally she will unconsciously project her characteristics onto others. Overall, her net influence on others is positive, emboldening them by example to act in ways that are fundamentally contrary to their character and serving as an invaluable asset on nearly any crew.

As the only daughter of two highly wanted pirates, she was always on the move in her younger years and took part in various criminal activities, earning a small bounty for herself and seeing few opportunities to make friends. The scarce times in which she did stay in one place for a short while were marred with failed attempts at friendship, and she was invariably judged as an outsider and hooligan. In those days, her parents were her only friends and were her only source of love and compassion. During one illegal adventure involving the transport of a priceless good stolen from marines for sale to a pirate, she ruined the deal by eating the Devil Fruit by mistake, much to the ire of the intended recipient. Soon after, her parents were captured and sent to Impel Down, Enies Lobby; to date, she hasn't heard of them since the day they were taken as prisoners. Because of her minor bounty, Ahab was relocated to Tequila Wolf as a slave where her Rope Rope Fruit powers were used as a tool for the construction of its massive bridge. For years she prepared herself mentally and physically to get away from the country by any means necessary, working hard and obediently, all-the-while harboring dark thoughts of revenge and scheming for a way out. Her prolonged good behavior resulted in a clean wipe of her slate and bounty, her opportunity for freedom following soon after. She refused to give her name when she was apprehended, and it was here in Tequila Wolf that she earned the name "Ahab" for foolishly roping a whale with the intent to escape to sea or drown. Before the whale broke the line of sight, she was spotted and recaptured aggressively by marines. Within days of this incident, the Revolutionaries arrived and forcefully freed the World Government's slaves before Ahab's bounty could be officially reinstated. Her teenage years up to present day were spent as a drifter, serving temporarily on various pirate crews to earn berries and passage around the Blue Sea.
